The Transportation Department [1] of Montana is one of the executive agencies of the Government of Montana. The department looks after number of programs related to maintenance, construction, and monitoring transportation of Montana’s infrastructure and operations. In order to improve the road conditions, the Montana Department of Transportation has adopted several programs like the Adopt-A-Highway Program, Traffic Safety Programs and Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The Department’s Adopt-A-Highway program helps significantly lessen the roadside trash issues. The program also improves the look of Montana’s communities and helps reveal the natural heritage of the state. Montana’s Adopt-A-Highway program corresponds with community groups that give highway trash and litter pick-up in local communities.

This program is worked out through the coordinated attempt of the Montana Department of Transportation, state and federal agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, local and tribal governments, transportation providers, public agencies, citizens, and other concerned parties.This program is responsible for highway, rail, aviation, and transit improvements and also preservation, renovation, and improvement of Montana's transportation system.

    Air Transportation in Montana
